My First Post for 2008!

As my first post for 2008, I’ll be blogging on how our new years eve went through. Some details of it and lots of pictures, of course. I’m glad that Valerie, my sister-in-law, was able to celebrate with us even though she’s an hour late for the countdown. We prepared some foods like Ham, Queso de bola, Maja Blanca, Puto, Spaghetti and Macaroni Fruit Salad.

We celebrated New Year with the whole cast of the family and friends even though we didn’t see any fireworks like how I used to see during New Years in Philippines. It’s a bit odd that I didn’t hear any noise and see any fireworks. Most of the people here in Chicago went to new year parties in downtown and had their countdown with friends. It’s a little odd because in Filipino tradition before the clock hit 12 midnight we should stay with our family to pray and have dinner together. Our own beliefs says that if a family stays together during the new years eve they will live a harmonious life. I think that’s the most important to us Filipino.
