Busy as Bee!
This past few days and more days to come I’ll be more busier than ever. We are so busy finding a new apartment and it is so hard to find a new one especially if you’re looking for a cheap one. We have found an apartment in uptown area it cost $800 a month no deposit and advance fee but still expensive huh? This unit is not that big but enough for us to fit. Utilities are not included, there’s no gas heater or gas stove, all are electric. So I’ve been thinking if it is worth it to have that apartment. There’s another options, we found a unit but it is a condominium for $900 a month and for this one all the utilities are included plus cable TV. The only problem is that we don’t have enough money for moving fee because it needs deposit and advance payment plus condo association fee for like $200, moving fee for $200, elevator fee for $200 and there’s also a fee for our cat which is $150. So all in all we’ll be needing more than $2200. So since we think that we can’t afford the moving fee of the condo unit we have decided to get the one in uptown area. It will be far from downtown and to the place where my sister-in-law lives.
Anyways, we’ll still keep looking for more apartments and thinking of possibilities which we can save a little. Part of this moving is we also need to buy some home furnitures like dining table, some kitchen utensils and things for bedroom like pillows and bedding. We only have two sets of bedding so obviously we need more for Yuna and for the coming baby. Oh! Of course, we need to buy a crib for the baby and a lot of stuff for my delivery since I’m due first week of April… geez! so many things to do but so little time

Ang mahal nung sa condo. Tapos may kung anu-ano pang fees. Yung sa uptown naman, mahal babayaran niyo sa kuryente. Pero electric din yata kami non. Hehe.
Yung sa furniture naman, try nyo sa mga thrift store like ate sarj suggested. Minsan meron pang sobrang ok na mabibili dun! hehe

Hi - A number of my friends back here in Oz are also in between apartments. After reading your post - it made me realise how expensive it is to live in Sydney. A US$800 per month here is a 30yo fibro house about 45km away from the city. Expect to fork out 2-4 times that if you want to be within 15-20km on a decent 2b/r apt. Hay - buhay!!!! We were just slugged with another rate rise yesterday, that’s another $50-$60/month additional on the mortgage

@rommel: hi! thank your for visiting my blog. about your comments actually yung $800 na apartment na yan is only good for one person pero dahil sa we cant afford for 2 bdrm at yung 1000+ na 1brm na yun dapat ang tama sa amin pero kaso de namin afford kaya pagtyagaan nalang namin yan saka malayo din yan sa downtown mga 1hr away when riding a bus. kunting tyaga lang makakaraos din :grin:

Ang hirap talaga mag apartment hunting!! EVER! Pero oo, mahal nga sa condo.. may pet fee pa, pati elevator fee? Hmm, goodluck.. I’m sure makakahanap din kayo.
About sa problem about furniures, may IKEA ba malapit sanyo? Alam ko kasi mura lang dun… If talagang gusto mo makasave, mag flea market ka or thrift shops. Mala vintage diba… syempre swertihan din makakita ng decent looking furnitures like desks and tables… Meron ka din makikita mga unused items sa thrift shops… basta SWETIHAN lang talaga ang masasabi ko. Hahaha!! Ayun, tinging ko you should start from there and slowly upgrade. =)
And about naman kay Jake.. oo nga tingin ko inlab ako konti. HAHAHA!
