CRITICAL NEWS UPDATE:

server003 was hacked into by supposedly a terrorist group, appeared to be traced
from Uruguay. They have successfully broken into the server through an unknown
exploit and affected all clients on this server. They were successfully able to
completely destroy the backup drive as well which held all client’s daily backed up
data.

This is the first time any of our servers has ever been hacked into since we
began business in March 2004. This is very unfortunate and difficult for
us to grasp as every server has literally over 50 security layers (at least)
from firewall, intrusion protection to DDoS mitigation, database security,
mail server security, so forth. Security has always been priority for us
and this unfortunate matter has greatly hurt us and our clients the same.

This has affected *all* clients on server003.

We truly apologize for this unfortunate event and appreciate your understanding
that this is inevitable, as much security as any host can patch, update,
apply to their servers - security is obviously never perfect. We’ve been
in business since March 2004 and own/host over 100+ servers. Up until
today, this is the first successful hacking attempt breached against VNS.

Steps You Can Take:

- request your shared or reseller account recreated with original username/password
You will need to upload your data via ftp once the account is recreated.

- request a cancellation via the support desk cancellation department.

We have already built a RAID 10 NAS (network attached storage) system
that has been in the works for the past 4 weeks. This will be an
added service, off storage backup solution for all clients interested.
