Once again, Manny brings joy to his fans and honor to his Country. Also, hats off to David Diaz for giving his best to entertain all of us and for humbly accepting defeat. For me, awesome fight indeed. Some might think that it was a one sided boring fight but for me it was a masterpiece. Pacman showed the difference between good and great, normal and special, standard and elite.

As I recall before the fight, many doubted Pacquiao. I myself wasn’t so sure if he can win the fight. People said that Diaz is too big, too strong and durable and he would just push Manny around. But unfortunately for the Diaz camp, that didn’t happen. Instead Manny was much much much faster, looked just as strong and had a better strategy than Diaz.

Although Manny made last nights event the “Manny Pacquiao Show”, some people are still not convinced that this little Filipino guy is for real. I bet the same people who said that Diaz is too big and strong and would whoop Manny’s behind blah blah blah….would be the same people who in the next few days will come up with excuses like…well, Diaz is too slow and soft and not a hard puncher and old and Manny picked him because he knows he can beat him blah blah. For the love of cheese! Why can’t these guys just accept the fact that the guy is a true once in a lifetime phenomenon. I’m not being biased because I am Filipino but c’mon last night was really awesome. I know there are still flaws in Manny’s game and there’s still much to improve but what he did last night was really that great.

I know there’s plenty to like about Manny and apparently plenty to hate about. Specially his lifestyle. But what he does outside of boxing is really not for us to judge what’s important is what he brings to the ring. Every time he steps into the ring he’s always in perfect form and condition. He never wants to come unprepared and never wants to disappoint us and I admire that most. I hope one day people will stop talking about how the guy’s a phony or how to expose the guy’s weakness but instead lets look at all his achievements. Well, I know you’re all entitled to your own opinion and so am I. Just my two cents. Congrats 4 time world champ, current WBC lightweight champ Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao! Thanks for the entertainment.
