Fairies and The Healer

This article is my participation to the Lifecruiser’s Halloween party for all bloggers.

Today we’re supposed to participate in A-team Cruisers in Oslo but obviously I can’t because I’m here in Chicago :D Instead I’m going to share my own spooky experience back in my hometown Davao City Philippines. It’s not actually a spooky story it’s just an astounding experience of my childhood.

When I was a little girl, I think I was 8 years old at that time. When all souls day is coming, myself and my family always went to the province where my grandparents live. The house that we are staying at was surrounded with big beautiful trees and there’s one noticeable tree that everybody in the town had always mentioned that there are fairies living in that tree. Even myself, I wondered why does the tree have a unique pleasant scent and a soothing aroma that made me question myself, does the tree really have fairies? or was it just one of those old folks stories? We were not allowed to play near that tree but I always drag my cousins at that place because it has a swing hanging on it. One day something happened to me, it was almost dark when we got home from that enchanted tree. After dinner I felt so tired and fell a sleep early, which is very unusual of me. When morning came, I couldn’t stand up and I couldn’t even pull my legs straight from being crumpled. I cried and screamed because it hurts. My mom scolded me and said “Did you play again at that tree? How many times do I have to tell you not to play on that tree? Look what happened to you? - Yeah I know I’m a little pigheaded during my childhood. So, everyone panicked and some said that I should be sent to the albularyo (an herbal healer) but my mom insisted that I should see a doctor to have their first opinion because mom thought that maybe my legs have fractured bones. The same day, we left my grandparents place right away even though the family event wasn’t finished. At the hospital, I’ve done x-rays and undergone several diagnosis but they can’t see anything. They said that I’m alright and nothing bad happened to my legs. My mom didn’t question the doctors anymore and instead she sent me to an herbal healer that my mom was devoted to.

We attended this group of people who were passionate to the Black Nazarene. The healer of that group was really good, believe it or not, I myself can’t even deny that I was healed. Yes, I was healed in a snap of time. Since I was a toddler or even inside my mom’s tummy and ever since my mom was healed from her soon-to-be skin cancer, we’re already a member of Kuya Domingo - the groups healer’s name. They didn’t asked for money not even a single penny. You can’t even see a donation box on their chapel. Back then, I and my siblings grew up being a believer of that group. They had a business that made them rich and famous during that time. They are the best maker and supplier of Durian candy not until the healer died and years came when all their business outlet was shutdown. It was so sudden and we’re sad about what happened to Kuya Domingo’s extant family. My mom doesn’t know anymore about their whereabouts but wherever the healer and his family are, we’re still very thankful for saving us from our sickness and strange illnesses. And about that enchanted tree, my cousin said that it still exist and grew even more beautiful and still spreading the pleasant scent. I still wonder if the fairies living in that tree punished me from being a hard-headed little girl

That’s the end of my story guys and I’m not trying to convince you to believe it. Happy Halloween everyone and thanks for the time reading my article  :3:

Hello ate scart,

Me, naniniwala ako sa albularyo talaga.

That is a great story. I also heard stories about fairies and such on my other grandmother’s place in Surigao. There is also this eerie looking tree at the back of our house.
